Doom opengl 4.5 vs vulkan10/5/2023 ![]() That means the demo version will not work with Wine at the time of this video. If you’re wondering why I did not use the demo version available on Steam, it’s because the demo version still has Denuvo. I don’t condone piracy, but I was using the CPY version (with Update 5) in this video to experiment. I’m using a 64bit WINE prefix here, but I compiled WINE in a biarch setting (meaning 32bit combined with 64bit since 64bit alone is buggy). Standard Wine will only enable OpenGL in DOOM. ![]() It’s possible to use standard Wine, but I use staging here to enable Vulkan. To get Vulkan working, in Ubuntu you’ll need to install vulkan-utils. I’m using Wine-Staging 2.0-RC1 patched with bCrypt. ![]() Doom 2016 running on Ubuntu with Vulkan via Wine!Ī big thanks to Oleg Suchilov a.k.a thevoidnn a.k.a ENABLE^ for getting the bCrypt patch functionality for Wine.
